About Us

Us in the car before our wedding reception

Paul and Kaelin are urban missionaries in Minneapolis, seeking the Lord to begin a missional community (aka. plant a church) in 2011.  Paul is a church-planter-in-training at Hope Community Church in downtown Minneapolis.  He is part of a two year program called Trek 2 of LDI to be trained up for full-time ministry.  Paul and Kaelin did Trek 1 – a one year internship – together in 2007-2008.  With the coming of our first child, Luke David Ireland, Kaelin now concentrates on our primary disciples (our children) and writes.

Right now we live in downtown Minneapolis by Elliot Park and North Central University.  We love it here. We can walk pretty much anywhere!    We also enjoy the diversity and interesting happenings that come with living in a downtown urban environment.

We both value children, healthy families, loving marriages, serving others, good food, participating in our community, sharing life with others, lifelong learning, eating well, exercise, and having fun.  And as you can probably tell, we both love Jesus.

Kaelin Ireland (formerly Kaelin Cook) is originally from Minneapolis.  Paul is from Portland, OR.  Paul’s family is still there.  Kaelin has two younger brothers – both teenagers – that are going to be really cool dudes and Paul has a brother 4 years younger than him that he misses a lot.  We love our families dearly!

We met in Chicago (11/05), dated while living in Los Angeles (4/06-6/07), got married in Minneapolis (at Hope… long story), moved to Denver (8/07), then moved to Minneapolis to do LDI (9/07).  The story is confusing, so try to stick with me here.

Kaelin has a Communications degree from University of Wisconsin Madison.  Paul attended Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, CA and received a degree in Economics and Psychology with Leadership Sequence.

We love each other and love Jesus.  We want to make the world a better place by helping others fall in love with Jesus.
